The company claims that it moistens food, boosts flavor, adds hydration and nourishment.

Moistens food

It did moisten the food, the food was obviously made wet by sitting in liquid, but it took a long time to soften the food. We use Stella & Chewy’s raw coated, grain-free, freeze-dried beef kibble and we let it site for about 15 minutes and didn’t soak anything up.

To be fair, we didn’t heat the both broth as we don’t feel that the microwave isn’t a nutritious way to heat food. And we don’t want to dirty a pan at every meal (twice a day).

After about a ½ day, the food became soft.

Also, we don’t find this to be a negative, just a notation that it doesn’t work quickly with every food. Therefore, if this is something specific for which you are buying the broth, it may not be a quick process.

Flavor

Cleo loved the taste gobbled it down. For anything that is good for her, she tends to not really like it. From the first feeding, she had no hesitation.

Ingredients

Human grade but no harmful ingredients like onions and garlic. Nor is it high in sodium like human broths would be.

The ingredients include:
Beef Bone Broth, natural flavor (contains Torula yeast), modified potato starch, glucosamine hydrochloride, sweet potato powder, carrot powder, salt, yeast extract, beef flavor, chondroitin sulfate, turmeric.

Therefore, if your dog has allergies or sensitivities with potatoes or carrots, this is not the broth for them.

Energy

Something the product doesn’t claim, but we found, is that Cleo has really good energy after consuming this. Over all, she seemed to have a bit more energy all day but the best benefits showed after an hour or so after eating.

She gets pain pills for arthritis, however, this seemed to level her up a notch. I think the Glucosamine in this really helped her joints. Even from the first day.

Food sensitivities

As mentioned, the ingredients contain potatoes and carrots. Therefore, this is not recommended for dogs with those sensitivities or allergies.

Cleo has a very sensitive stomach and new foods can cause vomiting and diarrhea. However, her stomach tolerated this perfectly and even her intestines were not irritated. Her droppings were perfect.

Poop good. Very good.

A little background on the Brutus Bone Broth, on the box and their website they tell the story of their creation.
